Choo was a fawn male Chihuahua, he was born in Stoke on Trent in a beautiful cottage in 2006, his Kennel Club name was Airdale Lord and he moved to Manchester with Alison when he was old enough to leave his mum. We named him ‘Lord Choo’. Choo was well travelled, he loved days out in the car, going for walks and sitting in coffee shops and he had a passport, and has been to Europe many times on his holidays. Choo was not scared of many things except bushes blowing in the wind and the dark so he always had his little night light next to his bed every night. Choo hated rain and would sit in his bed sulking whenever it rained. What Choo loved the most was his food, his Nylabone® keys and having his photo taken!
I was Choo’s owner and we have done many things together during his 15.5 years here from working as a Dog Warden, helping out in Greyhound Kennels, rescue centres and donating beds & toys to Manchester & Cheshire Dogs home. Over the years I have re-homed some very old dogs from Manchester Dogs home that were 12 years plus at the time, so Choo shared all of his toys and his beds with these old dogs for their last few months/years they had to live because we just hated like them being stuck in the kennels with no home as old dogs are often overlooked. If you are able to, we would ask everyone to really think if they could give an old dog the best retirement in a nice loving home with a memory foam bed as me and Choo did whenever we could.
We created the Choo Dog Leads brand based in Manchester because we were buying nice looking Dog Leads for Choo and his friends but we found that the fabric Leads would easily get dirty especially with daily use. Therefore we started to make our own leads out of Genuine Biothane because this is the only material that we have found to be strong, durable, wipe clean, practical and looks like ‘new’ for a long time.
We started making collars & Leads for Choo & his friends and found that these were very popular and our business grew and grew from there, we have sold many Biothane products now and we have a lot of happy customers and happy dogs wearing our luxury collars & leads which are all handcrafted in England. One of our best sellers is the adjustable lead, customers absolutely love them because they tell us that these are really handy when walking their dogs and if they stop off at a beer garden these leads easily clip around something to secure the dog while you owners have a little rest. These leads are really practical for all dogs of all sizes, we can make these in any width. You can check out the photos in our gallery of Choo wearing it to see what all the hype is about.
